Burlington, NC Wedding 12/31/11

Wow, how is it already June? The craziness of wedding season these past few months has put us FAR behind on blogging. So far, in fact, that this post is all about our New Year's Eve wedding. May the images from Heather & Chandler's day bring you cool thoughts as we approach a 102 degree weekend here in NC. Enjoy these images from the ever-amazing Big Star Studios.

Heather & Chandler have the sweetest love. Chandler absolutely beams when he talks about Heather. These two find such simple joy in each other. They wanted their wedding to reflect who they are: southern, music-loving, and unpretentious. Their venue, adjacent the historic train depot in Burlington, NC, was the perfect intimate location for a gathering of their nearest and dearest.

Heather & Chandler's wedding rings are heirlooms, once belonging to Chandler's grandparents.

Heather & Chandler tied the knot with a backdrop of antique barn doors and curly willow strung with lights.

In lieu of programs, their order of service was hand-written on a chalkboard framed with wood from an old tobacco barn.

Heather and her maid of honor wore heirloom fur coats from Heather's grandmother.

Bouquets and centerpieces were a base of all white flowers combined with woodsy elements like pine cones, fiddlehead ferns and feathers, and soft gray-green dusty miller and seeded eucalyptus.

Cotton added a touch of southern charm in table arrangements and in Chandler's boutonniere.

Dining tables with burlap runners were scattered with gilded pine cones and mercury glass votives.

Heather created placemats for the dinner tables with sheet music to "Feather Your Nest," a love song from 1920.

Their cake was topped with a nest of shredded book pages with two wooden birds kissing on top.

Heather & Chandler exited under an arch of sparklers and began the new year as a happily married couple.

I am also thrilled to announce that just a few weeks ago, Heather gave birth to their first baby boy! Congratulations, Kimbro Family!
