Rave: The King's Daughters Inn

I have to take a moment to rave about one of our favorite Durham properties, the King's Daughters Inn. Only this time, not as an event planner, but as a guest! Dear hubby and I live in Mebane, of course, which for those of you who don't know is about 25 minutes from downtown Durham. While Mebane has its charm (if by charm you mean $.50 wings, shrimp and oysters every Sunday with the neighbors at the local seafood place), we find ourselves venturing to Durham often for great food, drinks and fun.

We decided to make a night of it back a few months ago and booked a room at the King's Daughters Inn.

A quaint retreat tucked into Durham's Trinity Park neighborhood. Divine.

We had such a fun time! The Inn is right near Brightleaf Square, where some of our favorite restaurants and bars are. Speaking of Brightleaf, shoutout to one of our newlywed clients (as of last weekend!) Jon Marin, bar manager at Alivia's, which is one of our faves. Try the "Fay Special." Yes, Fay is his gorgeous bride. Anyway, after dining and imbibing a bit, we stumbled sauntered back to the Saunders Room at the Inn.

Serenity in the Saunders Room.

What a relaxing retreat it was. All the rooms are decorated differently (check out Trinity - it's great for a bridal suite) and Saunders is a perfectly southern, calming atmosphere. I think after staying there, it's my favorite!

The rest of the Inn is not to be overlooked. The next morning, J and I had a glorious breakfast of a roasted veggie omelette topped with fresh grated parmesan in the elegant Dining Room.

How can you not have an amazing meal in this setting?

Our stay was top notch. Thanks, Colin, Deanna, Samantha and staff for a wonderful experience!

Not only is the King's Daughters Inn a great venue for small weddings, but if you have a larger wedding off-site, it's also a great home-base for the bridal party and family. You can rent the entire inn for the weekend. Talk about quality time! I highly recommend it.

Cheers!
